Privacy policy
effective August 4, 2026The short version
Solitaire24 stores the minimum it needs to run a fair, competitive card game: an anonymous player identity, your games, and, only if you create an account, your email address. There are no ads, we never sell or share personal data, and you can play forever without telling us anything about yourself. We use Google Analytics to measure usage; it never sees your email or your games. You can delete everything yourself, in one click, on the account page.
Data controller: Solitaire24 (contact: [email protected]). This policy is written for the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applies to everyone, everywhere.
What we store, why, and on what legal basis
| Data | Why | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Guest identity - a random player ID and a name like Player-1234 | So your stats, streak and rating exist at all; kept in your browser's local storage | Contract - providing the service you're using (6(1)(b)) |
| Games - move logs with timestamps, results, scores | Score verification, anti-cheat replay, stats, leaderboards | Contract (6(1)(b)); anti-cheat also legitimate interest (6(1)(f)) |
| Competitive records - daily attempts, duel results, Glicko-2 ratings, streaks | The leaderboards and ranks you compete on | Contract (6(1)(b)) |
| Account details - email + salted password hash (only if you register) | Logging in and password-reset emails; nothing else - no marketing | Contract (6(1)(b)) |
| Google Analytics - pages visited and features used, via Google's cookies | Aggregate usage measurement, with IP anonymisation; opt out in your browser | Legitimate interest (6(1)(f)) - you may object (below) |
| Product events - first-party counters like "game started", tied to your player ID | Understanding what to improve; never shared with anyone | Legitimate interest (6(1)(f)) - you may object (below) |
What's public
Your display name, ratings, tiers, daily results and streaks appear on leaderboards. That's the point of them. Your email address is never shown anywhere. If you'd rather not be recognizable, play under the generated guest name or any username you like.
Cookies & local storage
We set no cookies of our own; a handful of functional local-storage entries keep you logged in and remember your game settings. Google Analytics sets its own cookies - the full inventory, and how to opt out, is in the cookie & storage policy.
Your rights (GDPR)
- Erasure, self-serve: the account page has a delete button that immediately removes your email, credentials, ratings, daily results and streak, and anonymizes your name everywhere it appears. No email, no waiting period.
- Access & portability: your stats and full game history are visible on your account page; email us for a machine-readable export of everything tied to your ID.
- Rectification: change your display name any time on the account page; email us to correct anything else.
- Objection & restriction: you may object to the legitimate-interest processing above (product events, anti-cheat retention). Email us and we'll stop or restrict it for your ID unless we have compelling grounds (e.g. an active cheating investigation).
- Complaint: you can lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority at any time.
Requests go to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days, as the GDPR requires.
Retention
Account and competitive data are kept while your identity is active and deleted or anonymized when you erase your account. Product events are pruned within 12 months. Password-reset tokens live for 30 minutes. Server logs rotate within days.
Where data lives
Solitaire24 is hosted on European infrastructure. If any processing ever moves outside the EEA, it will be covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, and this page will say so.
Children
Solitaire24 is a general-audience game and collects no more from anyone, child or adult, than described above. We don't knowingly collect accounts from children under 16; a parent can have one removed via the address above.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page with a new effective date; silent edits don't count as notice.
